Jujube ("we," "our," "the app") is a kitchen inventory and recipe discovery app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address (via email signup, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In)
• Display name (you choose this)
• Authentication identifiers from Google or Apple, if you use social login

Kitchen & Preference Data

• Pantry, fridge, and freezer inventory items you add
• Shopping list items
• Cooking preferences (cuisine, skill level, dietary restrictions, food allergies, taste profile)
• Household information (name, size, invite code)
• Recipe search history and favorites

Voice & Image Data

• Voice input: audio recordings are sent through our server to our transcription provider. Jujube does not save the recordings in its database.
• Receipt scanning: receipt images are sent through our server to our AI provider for text extraction. Jujube does not save the original images in its database.

Profile Photo

If you choose to add a profile photo, it is uploaded to cloud storage and retained until you remove it or delete your account.

Usage Data

We use PostHog to understand app usage and Sentry to diagnose errors and performance problems. These services may receive app interactions, a pseudonymous account or device identifier, app and device details, and diagnostic information. Error reports may include a screenshot of the app when an error occurs.

Advertising Measurement

If you allow tracking through the iOS permission prompt, we use TikTok's App Events SDK to measure which ads lead people to install and open Jujube. TikTok receives app-open events, advertising and device identifiers, an SDK-generated identifier, IP address, app and device details, and SDK diagnostics. We do not send your Jujube email, name, household information, food inventory, dietary preferences, recipes, or purchase events as advertising event parameters. Automatic purchase tracking, enhanced screen-interaction collection, and TikTok screenshot capture are disabled.

You can decline tracking and continue using Jujube, or change your choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. We also use Apple's SKAdNetwork for aggregate install attribution without requiring tracking permission. Aggregate reports do not identify you to us.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the core app experience — inventory management and recipe suggestions
• To personalize recipe recommendations based on your preferences and inventory
• To enable household sharing features
• To process voice input and receipt scans

3. AI Processing

We use AI services (OpenAI and Anthropic/Claude) to:

• Transcribe voice input to text
• Extract items from receipt images
• Generate personalized recipe suggestions

Your inventory data and preferences are sent to these AI services only for these purposes. We don't use your data to train AI models.

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS)
• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Row-level security ensures you can only access your own data
• We share information with the service providers described in this policy to operate, improve, and measure Jujube, including TikTok advertising measurement when you allow tracking.

5. Household Sharing

When you join a household, other members can see shared data like pantry items and shopping lists. Your personal preferences and account details stay private.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Your data is retained as long as you have an active account
• You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app
• When you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently removed
• Jujube does not retain original voice recordings or receipt images in its database. Processing providers may retain submitted content under their applicable service terms and data-retention settings

7. Subscriptions & Payment Data

Jujube's optional Pro subscription is billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) — we never see or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status across both stores; RevenueCat receives your purchase receipt and a Jujube account identifier (not your email or name) so it can tell us whether your subscription is active. We store your subscription tier (free/Pro) and the date it last changed. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase, and subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled — see our Terms of Service for the full renewal and cancellation terms.

8. Children's Privacy

Jujube isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data (visible in the app)
• Correct your data (editable in Profile)
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data (contact us)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app.
